Growing Conditions
Will tolerate most soils as long as they are moist and well drained (not boggy). Prefers sun or partial shade but will grow in dappled shade
Effort to Grow
This plant grows easily, but does require managing, otherwise it may start to take over. Regular trimming will keep it to the size and shape you require.
Be careful when disposing of pruning, the cut branches will give off cyanide so do not transport trimmings in a car.

The dark glossy leaves provide a dense barrier and good backdrop for other plants. It is fast growing so you can create a dense hedge in a couple of years

Keep well watered and ensure good drainage so soil is not boggy.
Generally very hardy and disease resistant, but occasionally can suffer from powdery mildew and vine weevil
