According to the rhyme by keeping an eye on the ash and oak trees in spring you will get a good prediction for summer weather.
‘If the Oak before the Ash, we shall have a splash, if the Ash before the Oak we shall have a soak’
Recently, I was just outside Warwick and saw these 2 trees on opposite sides of the road
The Oak and Ash are neck and neck, unlike last year when the Oak was out a couple of weeks before the Ash. Maybe it means a mixed summer, not a wash out and not a scorcher… lets wait and see if the trees are right again. Are these two species behaving differently where you are?
