As we approach the longest day of the year, we want our garden to be at its best. Try these 5 tips to make your garden look great without taking much time or energy
- Deadhead flowers. If you have roses and other repeat flowering shrubs, regular deadheading will encourage more blooms and keep your plants looking trim and cared for. It will also encourage the plant to make more flower buds to look pretty in a few weeks time
- Mow your grass. Any lawn looks better for a mow. Don’t worry about feeding or trying to improve a lawn at the moment, wait for autumn. Keeping it mown will make your garden look cared for
- Trim grass edges and define flowerbeds. Use edging shears to stop grass spilling into flowerbeds and define edges using a ½ moon.
- Sweep paths, decking and patios; it will make the area looked smart and ready for you to entertain guests.
- Plant pots with drought tolerant plants like Lavender, Rosemary and alpines. They don’t like much water so you won’t be spending the summer with a watering can in your hand
