With Christmas less than 2 weeks away we are getting ready to celebrate! Although what form our Christmas celebrations might take are changing with the advice from the government.
What we are getting ready to celebrate is the Platinum Jubilee of our Queen next year.
The Queens Green Canopy
One of the main ways the Queen is asking us to celebrate her anniversary is by planting a tree as part of the Queens Green Canopy.
The Queen’s Green Canopy (QGC) is a unique tree planting initiative created to mark Her Majesty’s Platinum Jubilee in 2022 which invites people from across the United Kingdom to “Plant a Tree for the Jubilee”.
We are very excited by the idea of planting trees in 2022 and we really hope you are too. If you are concerned you do not have space for a tree you can donate to one of the 70 ancient woodlands or local community initiatives that are taking part in the project. We are getting ready to celebrate by planting, managing, and maintaining some of the many trees in Warwickshire that will part of this project. Now through to early March, is the best time of year to plant bare rooted saplings or whips. These are the small twig sized trees that with all our help will grow into magnificent specimens to be enjoyed by us and future generations.
