It’s lovely to know the Easter Break is almost upon us. Traditionally the time to start planting, this year with Easter so early and the wet weather since December means the ground may not really be ready to accept tender plants and seeds. If you are keen to get planting but concerned the ground is still too wet and cold, get seeds started in pots on windowsills. By the time they have germinated, the soil should be warmer and ideal for planting.
The good news is that the soil is drying out so you can risk treading on the grass or soil in your garden without worrying too much about it. Like many I expect you are about to give your grass its first cut. Keep the blades high for the first couple of times to allow the grass to regenerate.
